TUT, TUT: Inasmuch as he was only 9 or 10 years old upon being crowned pharaoh in about 1362 B.C., it's unlikely that young King Tutankhamen (of current "Tutmania" fame) was aware of the homosexual/incestuous relationship that some Egyptologists and novelists surmise existed between his elder brothers and immediate predecessors as rulers of the ancient "Two Lands." It's known that the fanatic revolutionary/ monotheistic pharaoh, Akhenaten, took his younger brother, Smenkhkare, as coregent in the last few years of his own reign; it's conjectured that the latter shared the. royal bed as well as the throne, replacing in Akhenaten's favor his either deceased or deposed consort, the famous and beautiful Queen Nefertiti-who mysteriously disappeared from history at this time. At least two unfinished bas-reliefs exist portraying unprecedented intimate affection between the filial co-pharaohs.
